“There’s another one out there and it’s moving,” Mom said, beginning to seem agitated.
“Another palm tree?” I offered.
She looked confused, then it dawned on her. “Yes! A palm tree. But that one is moving.”
“Because that one is outside and the wind is blowing.”
“Wind?”
“Yes, a breeze is blowing outside. Or a squirrel is playing with it.”
“Squirrel?” She adjusted her position. She looked out eagerly, but there wasn’t a squirrel in sight.
“But it only moves when we talk. Do you suppose it knows when we are talking and that’s what makes it move?”
